69. THE LION
May 7, 2026
Last night: Sound bath. Ear seeds. Seasonal tea. New York Public Library. Rooftop terrace. Lions (not real).
This morning: “Bon vivant!” Didn’t know where that came from, to be honest. Then found my way to Florence Scovel Shinn (by way of Mitch Horowitz) and heard, “ah!”
Returned to The Game of Life and How to Play It and stopped at the following passage.
Jesus Christ said, “Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith?” “All things are possible to him that believeth.”
I am asked, so often by my students, “How can I get rid of fear?”
I reply, “By walking up to the thing you are afraid of.”
“The lion takes its fierceness from your fear.”
Walk up to the lion, and he will disappear; run away and he runs after you.
Last January, I declared that LAND MUST BE NEAR; upon the discovery that “The subconscious is often impressed through music.” This happens to be on the same page. Another revelation.
