Saw the Target edition of The Game of Life and remembered why I kept this up.

I learned not too long ago that early board games were designed for adults, teaching valuable lessons on strategy, morality, and fate. Some ancient ones even connected players to the cosmos. The Game of Life was a game I enjoyed as a kid, unaware that I’d still be trying to figure out how to “win” at life. Through my job, I discovered Florence Scovel Shinn’s book, The Game of Life and How to Play It, along with others rooted in the New Thought Movement. These teachings have served as my guide over the past few years. Believe you me, I didn’t plan on living by their universal rules—they only got a chance because my old ways weren’t working.
