44. THE LITTLE PRINCE

February 14, 2025

Just remembered The Little Prince.

In the Afterword:

In the book’s dedication to Léon Werth, de Saint-Exupéry makes the observation that “All grown-ups were children once,” and it would seem that one of the main purposes of this multi-layered parable is to remind the adult readers of this fact. He implies that children are granted a clarity of vision, unhindered by the sophisticated logic, practical parameters and commercial concerns of adulthood, and therefore they see the world in all its magical wonderment.
